Paisley thought her 5th grade school year would be like the others. She loved running on the school’s track like she had done in 4th grade. But she started experiencing persistent pain. Despite several doctor visits diagnosing it as "growing pains," it only got worse. Eventually, X-rays revealed something much more serious—cancer. A diagnosis that no family wants to hear.
Paisley’s parents say they struggled with finding the best way to tell Paisley. They said with God's grace, they found the courage to explain that something was wrong and that she needed to see specialists. The diagnosis was confirmed as Ewing’s sarcoma in November 2022.
The treatment plan was intense: six rounds of chemo, a major surgery to remove the tumor, and then eight more rounds of chemo. Paisley endured a 22-hour surgery where they reconstructed her leg using a cadaver bone. The recovery was tough, but she handled it with incredible strength and grace.
Despite the physical and emotional toll, Paisley's spirit remained unbroken. She even went golfing recently! The journey hasn't been easy, but faith, the support of friends, family, and community, and little signs from God (like heart-shaped leaves) have kept the family going.
Paisley just completed 34 rounds of radiation, and the latest scans show promising results.
Her family says the experience has brought them closer together and they’re thankful for the support from friends, family, and strangers who have sent love and support.
